If the characters are not real in a writer's mind then there is really no joy in writing about them, and there would be no spillover for the writer to want to believe in the characters either.<br /><br />"we all grow up with what I call excess baggage",<br />Absolute truth here. From the time we are born we are given other people's thoughts and ideas. It is up to us as individuals to decide if those believes are what we want to believe in and follow during our lifetime.
