Utter Scams and Tits -TV Chat Lines

The Bookshop Guru

After several weeks of utter scams and tits you soon realise this country has no longer any decency. The world of chat line terrestrial TV is available 24/7 just in time for breakfast. Imagine soon your family and kids will be able to see everything with their cornflakes. “Mom what does BJ mean?” Pass the milk son and eat your breakfast. Meanwhile on the other channel that your 4 year old keeps flicking the remote to - you can watch a women being “phucked” by a hairy arse ape-man. Depends I guess on your preference, of course. High fibre and low fat. But you have to ask the question – do we want to feed our children or “phuck” them?

“Always Do the Right Things Because It Takes Less Energy”

The Bookshop Guru

The statement “Always do the right things because it takes less energy” is a powerful mantra that my grandfather taught me. If you live by this you do not have to keep looking over your shoulder and wondering who may be watching you. The more energy you consume doing the wrong things the less energy you will have to do the right things. It’s simple logic, but it works, and safe to say you will live life with nature and not against it as is the “WAY” in “Tao Te` Ching” by Lao Tzu. If you want to know more about the “WAY” then I have written an article here on this blog click here.

My grandfather taught me a lot especially how easy it is to miss the opportunities life presents to you. Sometimes he would ask me to read a particular book and then ask me what the book was about and what I had learned. And he often said read it again you have missed the most important point of the book which I did. Like the adage “you can’t see the wood for the trees” it is easy to overlook the most important point.

God said Genesis

Have you heard about the chicken and the egg question? It’s an age-old question and most people have heard about it and pondered the answer. It goes like this “Which came first the chicken or the egg?” Now you may be thinking there is no answer – you cannot have one without the other -and you are wrong.  The answer is neither. I could give you an analogy as an answer as Man came first it says it in Genesis in the Bible. The truth is without seed there is nothing. The male of a species carries the seed the female the eggs and without the seed there is nothing. You work it out.  Someone or something has to play the part of the rooster.

Are We a Nation of Gamblers – Bingo-ing Mad Hatters?

The Bookshop Guru

I ask this question because I have noticed that nearly every other advertisement on TV is for a Bingo site or a casino online web site. There must be a new Bingo site every day advertised on TV and countless ads for casino sites. There seem to be springing up at all times throughout the day and night added to that is the number of lotteries that advertise.

Now I like a flutter on the national lottery each week especially the Euro Millions, but all the advertisements for gambling must encourage children at some point to think gambling is acceptable. The proliferation of high street betting shops we already know has had a damaging effect on local communities. I like to watch sports especially football, but nearly every advertisement is about gambling and we all know children follow football just as much as their parents. At what point do children who see all these advertisements for betting begin to think gambling is okay.

We have become a nation of gamblers, the Monday night bingo-ing mad hatters, the Tuesday night have a go lottery spenders, the Wednesday night poker potters, the Thursday speculators, the Friday night dreamers, the Saturday accumulators, and the Sunday where is it gone shakers.

iPhone 4S Apple Heads Do Not Function And Counting Down

The Bookshop Guru

Why is it Apple design the iPhone without basic functions for us consumers? I do not know about you but being able to delete all messages (6439) is a basic function especially when you do not have the time to spend hours deleting each one separately. I know there is jailbreak methods out there and you can also delete all from each sender selectively, but that takes time a lot of time. Being able to highlight and delete has been a basic function since the mouse was invented.

It’s about time Apple spent some of those huge profits fixing these issues because you only need to do a Google search (25,900,000 results) to see how many consumers spend their time looking for a solution. And that result was for only one issue with the iPhone. I just do not think the Apple engineers care or think enough because I have a list of basic user functions that do not exist and I know it’s a problem because the Internet is the proof.

Love, Money, and Luck ~~ What more do you want? A free lunch as well.

The Bookshop Guru

Help others achieve their dreams and you will achieve yours,” by Les Brown

Please, before you read this book don’t judge if you don’t know me. Maybe when you have read this book you may want to criticise what I have written. Even then I don’t think you will fully understand, because I don’t even understand myself sometimes. Because I live with bipolar disorder a chronic condition that apparently affects over 1% of the population. It’s a condition that has plagued me with a black cloud of depression most of my life, I believe.

My story will take you from the streets of America as a young boy to a discovery in the jungle of India to an enlightenment and maturity of the present day in England.

It’s a truthful account about my experience combined with a street philosophy as a way of looking at life with open eyes. Some of the stories I shall tell may shock or question your belief but try to keep an open mind. We all have that survival instinct so let your mind free and become a survivor.

As we travel through my life looking at fate, luck, love, money and many more interesting subjects you will find the philosophy that should be helpful in your life. Out of every negative comes some positives; its natures balance. Be careful what you wish for though, because as you will see dreams do come true. I will show you how poor decisions can have lasting effects and how mistakes we make sometimes show us the path we must lead. I wish I didn’t make so many mistakes but then the saying goes “it is said that only a fool learns from his own mistakes, a wise man from the mistakes of others, “an anonymous quote. Now, don’t go jumping of a bridge, though, that’s not a bad idea, only joking.

To me it seems that we all strive constantly for more each day, whether that’s more material wealth or just a better understanding of who we are and why we are here. Yet, when we depart this world we leave with nothing of earthly value.

The only real worth is the love we have encountered in our life. This book is about love and finding who we really are. The kind of philosophy and experience I have learnt will possibly help you in your life, I sincerely hope so.

How I came to write this book is some ways is the result of being hospitalised. No. Not because I was writing a book that happened later. I mean the computer didn’t blow up and put me in hospital, although at times I have felt like chucking my laptop straight out the window. I have less patience now with computers than a dog on heat.

You can call me Tony, so let the story begin...

Kamikaze Holiday in Thailand. Tony Blue Scores Again?

The Bookshop Guru

I recently had an amazing and exciting holiday in the land of the smile, and that is Thailand.  I started my holiday in Bangkok and spent half my time there before moving down south to the coast.

In Bangkok I soon realized that being stuck in a taxi car at the traffic lights which seemed forever, and I could almost write a dissertation it takes to move forward at certain times of the day and night.

They say the traffic is bad in London, but try it in Bangkok. I decided in the end to go what I called “ Kamikaze’ that is ride pillion on a motor bike taxi which is a lot faster if not exciting because these guys and girls get you there by going through any gap between cars, trucks and buses and you name it they did it. But I would advise  it’s not for the faint hearted or anyone with a weak ticker. Of course being single and a dog without a lead I sampled fully the night life.

Boy Oh Boy, what a life – I would say try it before you criticize it. I know I’ve had more pussy then Rooney even before I got to Bangkok and that’s official and the Truth Never Lies. And that was just the icing on the cake. One thing I would say about Thailand is its people love to work and that means everyone from taxi drivers, sales assistants, bar girls and the whole working force. This love of working is not the same in England where people come from Europe and sponge on our welfare system just because they can, and we can’t afford it because we are bankrupt as a country, but they still come and open their big mouths.

The places to go in Bangkok are numerous and you can get good food from the street vendors who are always pleasant and not so in England where most of the time they are racist and don’t know what customer service means.

Soi Cowboy was a place I found by accident and it turned out to be a paradise of love for a single guy who is more of a dog on heat and has  less patience than most dogs on heat. The rest of the holiday I spent in Pattaya on the coast. Where purely by chance the first night I found myself in a Go – Go bar. I won’t tell you where - that’s a secret a secret I will keep to myself. But I will give you a clue it’s a street (soi) off the most famous street in Thailand called “ Walking Street’  In this street I found a GO –Go Bar which as I say I found purely by chance and I had to bypass many other go-go bars to get to it. It was especially worth it because I am a dog as I said before without a lead and I like it that way a stray.

The 2nd part of the Kamikaze holiday in Thailand I spent in what I would describe for a single guy is paradise. Anyhow I went into the Go- GO Bar and if I said it was like paradise well it was for a dog like me. I had three girls on my right and three girls on my left. Some girls were naked and some had no knickers on and others had not much else on either, OBTW I had also one on each knee and the girl I had fallen for was on the GO- GO bar dancing with clothes on. So you can guess what I night I had? OBTW I rang the bell more times than I can remember which means you buy every girl in the bar a drink for the princely sum of only about $30 dollars. I enjoyed the pleasure so why not hey? I felt like a football star and spent the next few nights frequenting the same Go- Go Bar.  The best experience of my dog life, as a single guy without a lead, and a dog with no limits of where or when I would love, Oh what a place. Go Kamikaze in Thailand!

Stonehenge the Enigma

The Bookshop Guru

Today, people will travel to Stonehenge to watch the sunrise over the gigantic stones of Stonehenge. The autumn equinox on the 23rd September marks the day when the day and night are equal length at all points on earth except the poles, after that the nights will get longer and the days shorter. The fascination with Stonehenge started for me when as a young boy my grandmother took me to see the historic site. Back then being able to walk around and touch the stones and sense the magic and appreciate the scale of the stones increased my thirst to understand the reasons why Stonehenge was built. We are still none the wiser. We do not know what culture and why Stonehenge was built? We can make assumptions and that is about it.

Stonehenge is a mystical place of mystery and it is where the solstices are celebrated. The giant stone circle has always fascinated me. I remember as a boy walking through and under the gigantic lintel which bridge two giant trilithon uprights which symbolise the image of megalithic Stonehenge. And thinking: Why was Stonehenge built? Questions such as ‘why are we here’ and ‘who are we,’ these thoughts resounded in my mind at the time and today is much the same.

Authors such as Erich Von Daniken and his book ‘the chariots of the gods’ have all inspired my interest in science fiction and history. As a young boy I was inspired by the words and voice of Carl Sagan who would talk about the cosmos and its wonders. I guess, I have always been a dreamer. A dreamer who thinks too much, but then who doesn’t like to dream. For in those dreams, we can dream the impossible without the burden of logic. A blurred logic is what sometimes creates new science. For me science fiction and the mystery surrounding the possibility of extraterrestrial life and all these other questions are still today, facets of my thinking.

If time travel was possible then going back to see the culture that created Stonehenge and finding out the reasons why would be a trip I would like to make. I would not be surprised if Stonehenge had more meaning to those who built it then we imagine today. The 2012 prophecy, the Mayan calendar and other mysteries from the past symbolise how time has a way of clouding the future and the past.
