The Secret of Enlightenment

The search for enlightenment can take many different paths for the individual concerned, but in the end our progress through life should be with nature and not against it. Throughout history many great inspirational people have strived in their time to influence mankind to make the world a better place to live in. Some of the greatest advances in technology, medicine, and science have come about through the enlightenment of individuals who have said that they received their inspiration from their dreams or the practice of meditation. 

Steve Jobs (Apple fame) said that he found the inspiration for the iPhone from the practice of meditation. There are many more examples where the subconscious has played a major role in illuminating the minds of great inventors. Why our subconscious mind acts in this way is a mystery, but then again so is the universe.

Currently, science cannot answer the mystery of our subconscious or indeed how thoughts are generated in the conscious mind. Philosophers over the centuries have pondered on the mystery of the subconscious and the conscious mind in an effort to rationalise human thought and its existence without much success. René Descartes (philosopher, mathematician, and scientist) said, “cogito ergo sum,” translated into English: “I think, therefore I am,” which means if I doubted my existence than either someone else is doing the doubting or I exist. Sell on Red Buy on Blue ~ Why the Oil Companies Have to Wake Up?

The recent global sell off in the oil price is actually a good thing for the environment (less cost effective oil projects don't get the go ahead) and the obvious costs benefits to the consumer are numerous in cheaper gas and fuel.

But, I think the oil companies need a seismic shift in their thinking as does the general public. It’s about time, everyone woke up and realised the age of the combustion engine is over; the new age is electric vehicles and if you don’t want your children to inherit an Earth that is fast approaching a toilet, then, you need to wise up.

Midnight Oil - Beds Are Burning

The pollution of our upper atmosphere is a major problem affecting our weather systems (weird and more intense storms) for everyone on this planet whether you live in Timbuktu or downtown Los Angles, but, most people have chosen to ignore what we are breathing in; have you tried not picking your nose at night? The long term consequences of all this pollution (we are breathing in a considerable amount) is unknown, other than you need to be thinking electric, so that we can start to breath pure air again. 

We have a big chance to change to no waste technology (NWT) and we (governments and NGO’s) should be grasping the moment with both hands, because, now, is the time to move forward with their climate change plans by many factors. NWT is about using Solar Power Stations (the Sun generates more energy than we could ever use every day for the world) where we can in (deserts, hot countries etc.) and using technology such as solar, wind and wave power, electric vehicles and other innovations. Did you know that you could 'green' the deserts of the world if you wanted to by building solar power stations (SUN ~ Endless Supply and No Waste) in the deserts and power desalination plants at the coast to supply fresh water wherever you wanted.

The time has come to stop thinking about yourself and think electric cars ~ fancy that, no pollution and we can breathe again, hooray, hooray, for common sense alternatives. How green are you?

We Can See the Treasure Chest But Not the Treasure

King Solomon said vanity of vanities of what we become. As is the “Way” in Lao Tzu and a clue and the answer to this question we can see the treasure chest but not the treasure is the words in the poem. King Solomon said, “Gold, silver, and rubies are nice, but we treasure far above those knowledge, wisdom, and understanding.” Do you see the answer? We imagine all our dreams are fulfilled by this, yet the true treasure is knowledge, wisdom, and understanding.

The Buddha said, “Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.”  Ask any Indian in India and the far-east what are the ‘four passing sights’ and they will tell you? The treasure you seek is often in front of you; you just cannot see it. Any good code breaker knows it’s not just the words you need to decipher, but what the hidden meaning refers to. 

This is because the truth has always been hidden, because, it would not be half as much fun, if we just told you. Besides, every skinny dog needs a dinner.

The only difference is being bipolar does not shrink your dick, if you know what I mean? 

When you are on a high with bipolar you become wonderfully confident and creative. Often your alter ego takes over and you become that person. My alter ego is called Tony Blue; well that is what I call him. He has a habit of being funny all the time and running around having fun. Some people when they see this think he must be on drugs of some sort – that person acts too happy, they think. 

God only knows what miserable lives they must be leading because they often ask, “What are you on?” and I reply, “Coke and citalopram” meaning Coke Cola and citalopram not cocaine and citalopram; their expression tells me they are thinking the latter.

What’s your flavour? Well, 50 Shades of colour is my answer.  I would say this, because I am an artist and author.  I hope. But that’s me not quite sure of anything sometimes. I recently spent about 3 months entertaining my alter ego Tony Blue. As you can imagine this was much fun for him, but it left me with many stories and several financial fiascos.

In my new book “ It’s Never Too Late” I explore these topics and many more and show you how you can improve your life with my account of the ups and downs that life can spring on you when least expected.

We all suffer with failure at some point in our lives. My new book aims to empower you to search out what matters to you most. Each topic within the book explores the relationship with how we approach some of these issues.

You will find each of the stories within the book follow in a chronological order that helps build to a conclusion which I hope you will find useful and instructive in your future. We all suffer with failure at some point, but it is how we cope with that failure that I show you through my experience and stories that I hope will help you cope in your life. I certainly need it.

The Noes Have It, The Noes Have It

I do not usually write about politics but these days it’s hard not to. I spent last week one day watching the live UK parliamentary debate on TV about Syria for several hours. I was undecided whether we should get involved into another war. No one wants war. The bozos of England I am not a follower and could write a lot about the economic policies they are pursuing. But the use of chemical weapons we must stop and prevent other countries using them and it’s as simple as that. If we do not stand against such weapons of mass destruction we are opening the door for other despots to kill at will.

The UK government’s premise was weak compared to the opposition. Yet, it’s easy to say no to war after the previous debacle of the Iraq experience for the British public. History has shown that appeasement only serves to strengthen the despot. We should listen to our heart and know what the right decision should be.

The other day John Kerry the US Secretary of State made a powerful speech which clearly made the case for action against Syria. Our politicians need to wake up and back our friends across the pond.

Dead of Night

Cruel acts of night pass by,

Families scatter

Never to unite their blood spilt to mix in muddy pools.

A whistle in the wind,

Terror rules.

Unnatural times, an asylum of some.

Who torture with revenge without guilt.

Then in a passing second another life is lost.

Not counted just a casualty of chaos.

Time to stop this madness.

Before we ask where next.

A boy with a bullet screams out a killer in the dead of night.
