The Million Dollar Question and Answer ( NFL Sunday Football Comic Diary) Week 19 Playoffs

The Bookshop Guru

The Indianapolis Colts face Denver Broncos in Sunday’s live match. I fancy the Broncos to win the game. The consensus is around 51% in favour with the Broncos, and the bookies make the Broncos the favourite in this matchup. Denver is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games at home. For me it’s all about the quarterbacks, Peyton Manning vs Andrew Luck and I prefer Manning. As they say, go with the inform team and that is the Broncos at home. Who invented the spread, the bookies, and the way they see it, as a + or – 6.5 point game? So, that probably means the Colts will win with the points.  Whatever happens, I will enjoy the game!

Why I Fade My Trades? The Comic Speaks

The Bookshop Guru

As the markets begin to tumble the euro/dollar on the Forex is up and down like a Yoyo. My strategy is at the very last second before I execute that trade, I “fade” my trades. In simple terms the opposite trade? Why, you ask? Well, the way our brain’s work, and in my case the analysis of previous trades shows the profitability. And, remember “you don't win on every trade” you win over time because of the increased profits of these trades.

Now, where is that mirror on the wall.  In a three horse race, now, that is different, and so on and on. The unlikeliness of an event happening is often the outcome. Just a thought.

The Tale of the Butterfly and the Bee

Listen to the beautiful Chinese song as you read.

It was a beautiful day you could not help but feel good about life. I sat upon a hill overlooking the Sussex Downs. Able to appreciate the beauty of nature, the summer sun, and a gentle cool breeze, I relaxed and lay there thinking: I had been lucky to have made it this far in life.

As I made my way back to the car along a trail, I decided I would explore the nearby village. Walking down into the village, I saw an iron gate leading to a church, where much was overgrown with bramble along its path.

I could see a majestic old yew tree amongst the gravestones; it was massive, with many branches being supported by sturdy wood props. I would find out later, that the yew tree was over 1600 years old and still going strong.

The old yew was welcome shade from the summer sun as I gazed at the entrance to the church. The church was small and quaint, built from stone that had weathered countless storms, I thought. Apparently, some parts of the church were found to date back to the 12th century, I found out later.

Peering at the entrance to the church, I saw a darkened oak Norman-shaped door that had a beauty of its own; the door had an age to the wood, and you wondered what tales it could tell. Approaching the door that was beneath an open porch, I tried repeatedly to open it. Just as I was about to give up, the door opened if by magic, like a command open sesame.

Thinking: Someone had opened the door from the inside. I was shocked to see no one as I entered and saw the church was empty only one living soul, and that was me.

Strangely, I felt like someone wanted me to come in. Looking around the church, I was not spooked by the experience, but it did open my spiritual mind. It was then that I saw the butterfly and the bee. A beautiful stained glass window with the words of Jesus written upon it from the gospel of Thomas, Raise the stone, and thou will find me; cleave the wood, and there I am.

Many times, I have been back to the church that caught my imagination and gave me a feeling everything would be alright. Somehow, it was mystical and spiritual at the same time. Several months later, even in my darkest moments, I had the inspiration to paint a picture of the butterfly and bee stained glass window. And did I pray? Yes, I did.

Have I Been Here Before? Déjà vu

The BookShop Guru

Now, we have all had these feelings some more than most. Déjà vu is a phenomenon that is not fully understood by science, but this is no surprise as there are many esoteric intangibles that science cannot explain. I believe that fate and Déjà vu perhaps are closely related inasmuch as they both relate to events, one to a future event(s) and the other to an event(s) in the past, and yet you experience that event in the present or at least that is how it feels.

I believe that we have choices, but I am not so sure if we can determine our own destiny. Remember the chaos theory of the universe that has been proven to show deterministic patterns even though they are hard to see at first, but they are there. Perhaps this is what we encounter as fate? I will let you decide...

The Chicken and the Egg Question. Have I Been Here Before? Déjà vu

The Bookshop Guru

Have you heard about the chicken and the egg question? It’s an age-old question and most people have heard about it and pondered the answer. It goes like this “Which came first the chicken or the egg?” Now you may be thinking there is no answer – you cannot have one without the other -and you are wrong.  The answer is neither. I could give you an analogy as an answer as Man came first it says it in Genesis in the Bible. The truth is without seed there is nothing. The male of a species carries the seed the female the eggs and without the seed there is nothing. You work it out. Someone or something has to play the part of the rooster.

BTW, Jesus Christ said it many times to paraphrase; what do get when you never throw seed into a field? Nothing!
