We Live in a Paradox Called Space and Time

The Bookshop Guru

We live in a paradox as expressed in “The Paradox of Our Age,” by the 14th Dalai Lama; it’s a message that shows the contradiction of how our modern society survives. There are more technological communication systems but less socialisation. We are more isolated then if we were living in a cave, less able to communicate with each other than the first few grunts of Neolithic cave men. Our hovels have become bigger but at the expense of smaller and more dispersed families. We have gained more degrees and knowledge, yet have less sense to see the wisdom of others. We have more choice than at any other time in our history. Yet, we still want more the circle is never complete.
