The Wisdom of the Past

The Bookshop Guru

I could list many wise men that have walked this earth. But, it’s their wisdom that endures into the future.  The Buddha said, “Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth." And what we should remember is the truth never lies; only people do.

There is an old legend that is from the time of the first prophet so it is said. One day a man was walking through the desert and came upon a rabbit.

The rabbit said to the man, “Where do you go?”

The man replied, “I go to seek my fortune.”

“Fortune...what fortune?” the rabbit asked.

“The treasure of Asqanu, on the Mediterranean coast,” the man replied.

“Will you take me with you? I know this place,” the rabbit said.

“What good is a talking rabbit?” the man asked.

The rabbit replied, “What good is it that you are lost?”

The rabbit then said, “Man thinks, just because he can talk that he is smarter than the rabbit, but forgets he is an animal that is lost.”
